Weather unit begins

Miss 7 spotted a activity folder I had bought earlier on Weather and asked if we could learn about the weather, particularly as we had had some storms just the night before, so we started with a weather report that she made from this stencil in the pack.

She looked up the weather for the week on the Bureau of Meteorology website and recorded then decided to build a TV and be a weather reporter. Miss 6 did her weather report on an online version found here (found at the very bottom of the page).

We then found a fantastic website all about the weather for kids with some great experiments such as this one where the kids make different kinds of clouds from shaving cream.

We also used the shaving cream to do some spelling.

Here’s Miss 7 discovering how clouds are made in this experiment by blowing her hot breathe onto a cold spoon.
