Our HOMESCHOOL HOLIDAY!

OK, so we are back from our 6 week holiday travelling up the east coast of Australia.  It amazing just how much homeschooling you can fit in without trying too hard – there’s always something to learn about or explore.  Anyway, here’s some pics of our homeschool holiday achievements.

A 100 PIECE JIGSAW.

VISIT TO A LIGHTHOUSE AND WHALE WATCHING – a fantastic whale display inside which just topped off our study of whales.  The keeper was quite shocked when the girls told him all about Balleen whales (he he he).

BIRD WATCHING – this Kyte actually had a nest nearby and we could hear the babies & watch it collect food for them & deliver it.

BUSHWALKING  – aren’t they cute holding hands.

VISITING THE SHIP LOADING DOCKS & WATCHING THEM LOAD THE SALT.

VISITING THE SINGING SHIP AT YEPOON  – yes it really sings with the wind and the pipes.

WATCHING DADDY HELP PUT THE FIRE OUT IN THE CARAVAN PARK – an exciting part of the holiday!

VISITING THE AIRCRAFT MUSEUM.

LEARNING TO MAKE JEWELRY/BEAD-MAKING.

LEARNING HOW TO MANAGE A CAMPFIRE SAFELY.

DOING MINI OLYMPICS ON THE BEACH – THE LONG JUMP.

VISITING A CASTLE & getting to dress up as a princess.

LEARNING HOW TO CAST OUT A LINE.

GOING TO THE OUTBACK SPECTACULAR HORSE SHOW – miss 6’s favourite thing of the whole holiday.

LEARNING HOW TO DO 10 PIN BOWLING.

BUILDING A SHELTER FROM THE WIND FROM DRIFTWOOD.
