USING ADDITION CARDS WITH MANIPULATIVES.

Cut out the bugs, sort them into the jars then using the tally sheet add up how many bugs you have in each jar and how many all together.

I made these number lines on thick coloured cardboard and covered them with clear contact.  We printed the spider ladder worksheets for subtracting 3 from http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/numbertime/print/number_ladders/index.shtml and used a plastic spider manipulative to fill out the sheet by moving the spider back 3 places.
